Event 1 March 22: Reinvention, Resilience and Retirement: Designing Your Encore After Law

As a retirement coaching provider, Futurum Group is always interested in sharing people’s experiences of retirement and how employers can best support people approaching retirement stage. We’re delighted to invite you to our next virtual event on 1 March 2022, 5pm: Reinvention, Resilience and Retirement: Designing Your Encore After Law. We will be joined by Mike Rebeiro (left) and Tony Underwood (right) who will share their experience of change and transition and the importance of both resilience and vulnerability. We will discuss the challenges of transitioning out of the legal profession and why and how firms can provide much needed support to partners.

Mike Rebeiro's 30 year legal career at Slaughter & May, Norton Rose Fulbright and MacFarlanes saw him excel as an equity partner. He will share how the demands of the profession can mask underlying mental health issues for many and how more support for partners' wellbeing is needed at every stage of their career – particularly later on. He will also explain how he took the time to reflect on what he wanted to pursue after retiring from law and how this has helped him create the right encore for him. Spoiler: This has sometimes meant saying no to opportunities!

Tony Underwood is a former England international rugby player and Captain for Emirates. He will share what retirement from rugby and reinvention – following his career as a pilot – have taught him about identity and purpose. These days Tony is helping businesses support their people to develop leadership and organisational resilience and achieve high performance. Tony demonstrates disarming honesty in discussing how his failures as well as successes have shaped him as a person.

This is an invitation only event. Email sarah@futurumgroup.co.uk to reserve places. We look forward to seeing you.
